•Mechanics The study of Physics begins with mechanics, which focuses on the motion of objects and the forces that cause this motion to change. It has two parts: Kinematics and Dynamics. Kinematics describes motion without referencing forces, while Dynamics examines how forces affect motion. •Introduction Kinematics is the science of describing the motion of objects using words, diagrams, graphs, and equations. Its goal is to develop mental models to describe real-world motion. We will learn to describe motion through: 1. Words 2. Diagrams 3. Graphs 4. Equations •Describing Motion with Words Objects' motion can be described using words. Even those without a physics background have vocabulary for this, such as going faster, stopped, slowing down, speeding up, and turning. In physics, these words form the language of kinematics. Main topics include: 1. Distance and Displacement 2. Speed and Velocity 3. Acceleration •Scalars and Vectors These words are categorized based on whether they are scalar or vector quantities: 1. Scalars are quantities described only by magnitude. 2. Vectors are quantities described by both magnitude and direction. •Distance and...
