In the Information Economy, however, information goods such as e-books, software, digital media, and online services follow different rules: - Their initial production cost (development) is high, but reproduction costs are near zero. - Value is based on perceived usefulness and relevance, not cost. - Economies of scale shift to demand; value increases as more users adopt a product or service. •Network Economy The network economy is central to the Information Economy.
