CHAPTER 03LEARNING OBJECTIVES ISSA | Certified Personal Trainer | 57 1 | Describe the structures and functions of the nervous system. 2 | Describe the structures and functions of the muscular system. 3 | Describe the structures and functions of the skeletal system. 4 | Name the different types of connective tissues and their unique functions. MOVEMENT SYSTEMS CHAPTER 03 | MOVEMENT SYSTEMS The human body is organized in levels of increasing complexity. At the microscopic level, there are subatomic particles (protons, neutrons, electrons), which make up atoms. Atoms group together to form molecules. Molecules make up organelles, which are small cellular structures that perform specific functions within the human cell. Cells aggregate into the various tissues that make up organs and organ systems. Finally, the organ systems, as a collective, comprise the organism that is the human.
