Answer: A genetic disease that causes thick, sticky mucus in the lungs and other organs due to a faulty CFTR gene. Main problem → lung infections, mucus build-up, and breathing difficulty. ⸻ 2️⃣ How is it inherited? Answer: Autosomal recessive — need two faulty CFTR genes (one from each parent). Carriers have no symptoms. ⸻ 3️⃣ What gene and mutation cause it? Answer: CFTR gene on chromosome 7. Most common mutation: F508del (also written as ΔF508). ⸻ 4️⃣ What goes wrong in the lungs?
