🌏 Nüwa Mends the Sky In the ancient age, when the world was still young, the sky arched over the earth like a great blue bowl. Humans lived peacefully below it, unaware that anything so vast could ever break. But far above, two mighty gods—Gong Gong, lord of the destructive waters, and Zhuanxu, a sovereign of order—clashed in a furious battle for power. Their blows shook mountains, churned oceans, and split the clouds. At last, Gong Gong, defeated and enraged, hurled himself against Buzhou Mountain, the pillar that held up the heavens. The mountain cracked. The sky tilted. The world lurched sideways. Suddenly, the heavens tore open in the northwest, and the earth sagged in the southeast. Floods poured from the sky like overturned rivers. Fires burst from the ground. Winds screamed through the gap in the heavens, and the stars themselves drifted out of place. Seeing the world she loved collapsing, Nüwa rose from her quiet dwelling among the clouds.
