EVSs are divided into three general categories, which form a continuous spectrum: 1. ECOCENTRIC (nature centred) - An ecocentric viewpoint puts ecology and nature as central to humanity and emphasizes a less materialistic approach to life. - An ecocentric viewpoint prioritizes biorights, emphasizes the importance of education and encourages self-restraint in human behaviour. - Extreme ecocentrists are called deep ecologists. 2.
