What does God's silence during prayer signify?

You've pleaded with God, and nothing is changed. And if we're honest, you're starting to wonder, does God see me? Does he care? Is he even there? But God's silence does not equal absence. Just because God is quiet doesn't mean he is gone. And just because he hasn't answered the way that you want doesn't mean he's not working. Sometimes God is doing his deepest work in the place he seems most silent. And when God finally answers prayer, he doesn't say, hang in there, Paul. I'm gonna take it away. He reveals something better. But he said to me, my grace is sufficient for you. These are the words of Jesus to him. And notice what Jesus says. He doesn't say, grace is sufficient to for you. Like, everything happens for a reason. You've got grace. No. He says, my grace. Is sufficient for you. It is very personal. It is the assurance that God is with you in it. God didn't remove the pain, but he refused to leave him to navigate it alone. If you're gonna grow through what you're going through, it has everything to do with your ability to hear from God.
