The earths systems System- a network of relationships among components that interact with and influence one another -exchange of energy, matter, or information System Inputs -> stock -> outputs Environment- All the things around us with which we interact: -Living things and non living things -built environment -social relationships Ecosystem- all organisms and non living entities occurring and interacting in a particular area Feedback Negative- we’re cold, put on a jacket to become warm Positive- anything that keeps a system up is positive, anything that shuts it down is negative Hydrologic cycle Eutrophication- a process, its what’s happening in Mexico Phase 1 Too many nutrients going into the water Phase 2 Phytoplankton flourish at the surface (explodes, too much food) Phase 3 Dead phytoplankton
