Last resort means all peaceful options have been tried and failed, and war is the only way to solve the problem. • The Invasion of Poland It occurred on September 1, 1939, when Germany invaded Poland after signing a non-aggression pact with Stalin to prepare for response and eventual attack. • Relationship Between Key Terms: Battle of Britain and The Blitz The Battle of Britain and the Blitz are connected because they both involve air attacks against Britain. They also involve soldiers, as the Luftwaffe tried to gain air superiority and target civilians, causing deaths and injuries.
