How closely do they work together? - How much do they have in common? - How are they trying to reach some economic goal? **TYPES:** **Social Groups** - People connect and interact with each other. - Connections are based on shared papers, agreements, or how they deal with each other. - People share similar ideas about what's important and their beliefs. - They can become organized by creating instructions to help keep the group functioning. - Shared values, resources, connections, and activities reinforce each other. **Social Categories** - Labels that society or people assign based on shared traits. - They do not necessarily interact with each other, and they may not even know each other. - Society sees them as having something in common (age, gender, ethnicity, occupation). - They are "treated similarly" in social situations or roles. **Statistical Aggregate** - People grouped only for research ...
