Good morning, everyone! Thank you for coming today. We are the group “Coffee Tasting”. I am Juan José Bermúdez Buitrago. My friends are Jhair Wagner Rodríguez and Julián David Santana Urrea. Today we are going to talk about the story of coffee. Are you ready? Let’s start! Coffee comes from a beautiful plant. The red fruit of this plant has seeds. We call these seeds “coffee beans”. People roast the beans and make the drink that we love. The story begins a long time ago in Ethiopia. A shepherd called Kaldi had goats. One day, the goats were eating red berries from a plant. After that, they were jumping and running all night! Kaldi was watching them and he thought: “Wow, these berries are special!” He tried them too. That is how people discovered coffee. From Ethiopia, coffee travelled to Arabia. In the past, people there used to sit together and drink coffee every evening. Coffee was more expensive than today, so only rich people drank it a lot. Later, in the 1700s, coffee arrived in America. Today, Colombia grows some of the best coffee in the world. Colombian coffee is smoother and more delicious than many other coffees.
