CONCEPT OF PREHISTORY We consider Prehistory the period from when our human ancestors appeared on Earth around 5 million years ago until the invention of writing around 3500 BC. ## INTERESTING FACT! Prehistory is the longest period in history. If a day had 24 hours, Prehistory would last 23 hours and 50 minutes, while History would only be 10 minutes. Prehistory is divided into: - Stone Age - Paleolithic Age - Neolithic Age - Metal Age - Copper, Bronze, and Iron Ages Since we lack written documents, much about how these people lived remains unknown. Archaeologists have learned from remains found in excavations, such as bones, pottery, tools, objects, or paintings. ## INTERESTING FACT! Dinosaurs didn't coexist with humans.
