Present Simple 1. In questions, we use "do/does" before the subject. • Do you like chocolate? • Does your friend live in London? 2. Negative sentences use "do not / does not" + base verb. • I don't play basketball. • She doesn't eat fish. 3. With verbs ending in -o, -sh, -ch, -ss, -x, ado -es in 3rd person singular. • He goes to school at 7 a.m. • She watches TV every evening. 4. With verbs ending in consonant + y, change y → i + es in 3rd person singular. • He studies math every night. • She carries her books in a backpack. 5. Adverbs of frequency go before the main verb but after "be". • They usually walk to school. • He is always late to class. • Present Continuous 6. Form: subject + be (am/is/are) + verb-ing. • I am reading a book. • They are playing football. 7. Negative: subject + be + not + verb-ing. • I am not sleeping now. • She is not cooking dinner. 8. In yes/no questions, "be" comes before the subject. • Are you listening to me? • Is he playing the guitar? 9. For verbs ending in -e, drop the "e" and add -ing. • She is making a cake. • He is writing a letter. 10.
