• Reported Speech: Reported speech is used to repeat what someone has already said. • How is it Formed? **Direct**: - Simple present → Simple past - Present continuous → Past continuous - Will → Would - Can → Could **Examples**: - Direct: "I eat an apple every day." - Reported: She/he said (that) she ate an apple every day. - Direct: "We are watching a movie." - Reported: They said (that) they were watching a movie. **Note on verb forms**: - don’t/does/do - eat/eats* - Use continuous: was/were + ing **Additional words**: - my dog - dog --- • Example Sentences: **"I am walking my dog."** He said that he was walking his dog. **"Parrots can talk."** Jimmy said that you could talk. --- • Imperative Forms: In commands, the verb changes to the infinitive. **Example**: - Be quiet. --- • Question Forms: **YES/NO Question Forms**: In yes/no questions, we use phrases like: - Do you think...? - She said to me if I wanted a cookie. --- • Reported Speech Quiz: 1.
