What is sociology? Definition 1 : Sociology is the systematic study of human society and social interactions. Definition 2 : Sociology is the scientific study of human social life, groups, and societies. Its object of study is the behavior of individuals as social beings. Definition 3 : Sociology is a social science concerned with the study of human social relations and the different patterns of these relations within social groups, while the primary goal of sociologists is to understand how society works. It is also important to remember that, as with any other science, sociology uses different methods to collect data. In this case, sociologists often collect data through previous studies and surveys to address specific problems within society and develop public policies to address them. What do sociologists study?
