•James Chadwick James Chadwick (20 October 1891 – 24 July 1974) was an English nuclear physicist who received the Nobel Prize in Physics in 1935 for discovering the neutron. In 1941, he authored the final draft of the MAUD Report, which motivated the U.S. government to initiate serious atom bomb research. He led the British team involved in the Manhattan Project during World War II. In 1945, he was knighted in Britain for his contributions to physics.
