During this stage, individuals experience significant physical and mental changes and reach sexual maturity, enabling reproduction. Physical changes include voice deepening around age 14, testes growth at 11, pubic hair development, first ejaculation at 12-13, facial hair at 14, and first menstruation at 12-13. The pituitary gland, ovaries, and testes begin producing sex hormones.
