Tense only manifests in grammar: it is a verbal representation of real time. Aspect is also grammatical, and it indicates whether an action is complete or in progress. And mood reflects the speaker’s attitude towards what is being said. We’ll see these concepts in this topic mainly through definitions and explanations of authors like Carter & McCarthy (2006) or Quirk et al. (1985).
