A medical doctor that observed that milkmaids infected by cowpox (viruela vacuna) normally survived smallpox (viruela humana) infections. He transferred pus from a milkmaid infected with cowpox into a young boy, and he became resistant to smallpox. Therefore, Jenner decided to call this process “vaccination”. Robert Koch (1843-1910).
