•Starting at Hotel Imperial Good morning, everyone! Welcome to Santiago de Cuba. My name is Karina, and I work with Havanatour. I’ll be your guide today. We begin our tour at Hotel Imperial, one of the oldest hotels in the city, built in the early 1920s. It features colonial-style architecture with large windows and elegant balconies. Many tourists have stayed here over the years. From here, we will walk to the main square: Parque Céspedes. ⸻ •Walking down Enramadas Street Now we are on Enramadas Street, a historic and famous street in Santiago. It is a pedestrian-only zone—no cars allowed. You will hear music, see local people, and pass stores, cafés, and theaters. Enramadas connects many important parts of the city. Santiago residents say: “Life in Santiago flows through Enramadas.” ⸻ •Parque Céspedes (Expanded) We arrive at Parque Céspedes, the city’s center. The park is named after Carlos Manuel de Céspedes, the first Cuban to free his slaves in 1868 and a leader in the fight for independence.
