What adaptation helps penguins swim better instead of flying?
Apuntes
• Amazing Animal Adaptations How penguins have adapted to their environment has fascinated scientists for years. Adaptations include the shape and size of their wings, which, instead of being used to fly, enable them to swim better. Their feathers have evolved into a thick layer of blubber to protect them from cold temperatures, and they have powerful claws to grip the ice. One of the most important factors for the survival of many species is their senses. These adaptations can help a species find food and protect themselves from becoming prey. The octopus has developed amazing, all-around vision, allowing it to see everything happening around it. It has also developed the ability to change color and camouflage itself perfectly against its surroundings. Moles have very poor eyesight and have adapted to living underground. They possess a heightened sense of smell, which allows them to identify their location and find prey more easily. Cats have developed incredibly sensitive hearing. They can hear sounds from great distances and are able to detect sounds in all directions.
