LAB 6 Four major types of plants Angiosperm - MAGNOLIA→ fruits and seeds. Bryophytes- MOSS→ don’t have tissue (xylem nor phloem), neither seeds. ’’ Non- vascular plants’’. Instead, they have rhizoids. Gymnosperms- PINE→ have needles and cones; have seeds but no flowers neither fruits Pteridophytes – FERN → have vascular tissue but no seeds. ‘’seedless vascular plants’’ Vascular tissue is important to transport nutrients and water through the plant --Female structures--/Carpel Stigma: sticky part, receives the pollen grains Ovule: develops into a seed, egg cells Ovary: develops into a fruit --Masculine structures— /Stamen Anther: Produces polen Filament: supports the anther Phylogeny: study of evolutionary relationship between organisms Cladograms: tree-like diagrams that show relative relationship between organisms Taxonomy are reflection of evolutionary history because they are grouped according to its similarities.
