1. Wish + Past Simple / Would 🔹 Use: To express a wish about a present situation (using past simple). To express a wish that someone/something would change (using would). 🟨 Structure 1: Wish + Past Simple 👉 Use it when you talk about something that’s not true now. Examples: I wish I had more free time. She wishes she lived in Paris. They wish they were taller. 🟩 Structure 2: Wish + Would + Verb 👉 Use it when you're annoyed or want someone else or something to change. Examples: I wish it would stop raining. He wishes his neighbor would be quiet. We wish the bus would come faster. 📝 Note: Don’t use “I wish I would…” (use could or past simple instead). 2. Second Conditional 🔹 Use: To talk about unreal, imaginary, or unlikely situations in the present or future. 🟨 Structure: If + past simple, would + base verb Examples: If I had a car, I would drive to school. If she were a superhero, she would fly. If we studied more, we would pass the exam. 📝 Note: You can use were with all subjects (even "I"): If I were you... 3.
