Past Tense and Personality Questions In English, when we talk about things that happened in the past, we use the past tense. The past tense helps us describe actions or events that already happened. For regular verbs, we usually add -ed at the end of the verb. Examples: play → played watch → watched study → studied work → worked Example sentences: I played football yesterday. She watched a movie last night. We studied for the exam. However, some verbs are irregular, which means they do not follow the “-ed” rule. They change in a different way.
