INTERACTION FUNCION
Which part of the neuron receives stimuli?
Apuntes
• Interaction Function **Homeostasis:** The adaptation of the organism to changes produced by the environment allows it to maintain a balance known as homeostasis. **The Neuron:** - **Myelin Sheaths:** They act as insulators so that the electrical signal is not interfered with. They are formed by Schwann cells. - **Nodes of Ranvier:** These are the gaps between the myelin sheaths. - **Cytoplasm** - **Cell Membrane** - **Dendrites:** They are thin and branched processes of the cytoplasm. - **Nucleus** - **Neuronal Body:** It contains most of the organelles and cellular components. The dendrites receive stimuli through the dendrites, and the signal travels through the axon and the neuronal body to reach the synaptic buttons. - **Axon:** These are elongated processes of the cell that can be very branched at their ends. **Types of Neurons:** - **Afferent Neurons:** They transmit stimuli from sensory organs to the nervous system. They are located in nerves. - **Efferent Neurons:** They transmit responses from the nervous system to effector organs. They are also found in nerves. - **Association Neurons:** They connect afferent and efferent neurons. They are int...
