The Paths of Knowledge • Subtopic: Abstraction and Logical-Mathematical Knowledge Abstraction is an intellectual ability that refers to separating something from its context in order to analyze it and reproduce a concept or mental representation. Logical-mathematical knowledge is acquired through abstraction processes. It doesn't come from perception through the senses; rather, it consists of learning logical principles, which allow abstract reasoning to be carried out in an analytical and systematic way. An example of this knowledge is the Pythagorean theorem and even the knowledge you have about doing calculations and operations, such as adding, subtracting, and calculating percentages. So, we conclude that knowledge can be acquired in many different ways, and each type of knowledge has its own importance and relevance in our understanding of the world.
