• Subtopic: Real Conditional - Present The present real conditional is used to describe facts or general truths. It can also describe something that generally happens or be used to give advice. In these sentences, both the "if" clause and the result clause use the simple present tense. Sample Sentences: - If you heat ice, it melts. This is always true; it is a fact. - I get tired if I spend too many hours on a plane. This is something that always happens. - If you need a VISA, make sure you apply in advance. This is strong advice, which is why the imperative is used. • Subtopic: Real Conditional - Future Future real conditionals are used to make predictions or talk about the future. In these sentences, the "if" clause uses the simple present tense, while the result clause uses the future tense or a present modal that indicates the degree of certainty, such as "may" or "might."
