• Will vs. Going to **WILL** **Gonna** **Instant Decision:** On the fly, I think I will buy it and check. **Offline:** That checks mostly; I will buy it with you. **Promises:** Don’t worry, I won’t leave you. **Threat:** If you threaten, I will answer with a threat. **Refusal:** If you don’t want to, I won’t work. You can use both **WILL** and **GOING TO** for making predictions. **Examples:** - I will / I’m going to / I’m planning to / I’m going to - The weather is going to rain. - I will call you when I leave. - Are you busy this evening? - I’m going to buy a new car. **Note:** In spoken English, **Going to** is often pronounced as **‘gonna’**.
