IN S P EC TIO N AND M A IN TEN A N C E. A. Types of Maintenance. Tw o cíassifications of inspecíions and repairs are performed on turbine engine aircraft A&P technidans. They are line (flight iine) and shop inspecíions, aiso fine and shop repair. Although the tendency íoday is to perform more exíensive repairs on the iine, the reaiiy heavy repairs are performed on the engines removed fforn the aircraft and in repair shop. A good point to remember when working on turbine engines is that they are aii iightweight, high-speed machines which are manufactured to very dose toierances, therefore extreme care is required in theír maintenance.
