• Subtopic: Tribe Society The Paleolithic society was organized in tribes. Each tribe had 20-30 people who were related through family ties. Some members of the tribe were more important than others, such as the chief, the shaman, or the leader. • Subtopic: Beliefs and Spiritual Life There was a belief in the power of natural elements like the Sun, the Moon, the stars, and the rain, which were considered superior elements. They also believed in spirits. Magic rituals were performed to try to influence the forces of nature and spirits so that they would protect them. Worshipping the dead was also significant; they were buried in specific postures, with weapons and ornaments buried alongside their bodies. • Subtopic: Birth of Art Portable art consisted of objects made of stone, bone, or ivory, decorated with reliefs and engravings, and sometimes painted. They made Venus figurines. Cave painting started at the end of the Paleolithic period, around 40,000 years ago. It was done on the inside walls and ceilings of caves.
