In pursuit of its purpose, the entity inescapably handles information. Examples of enterprises include individuals, companies, non-profit organizations, associations, state services, government agencies, and regulators. Information : Symbolic phenomena, objects or things, external to the human mind, deliberately created to be used in the context of human activities in operations involving some form of communication or cognition. Information Technology (IT) : Hardware, software, and their combinations. IT Infrastructure : IT that provides the basis for the operation of IT applications. IT Applications : Computer-based artifacts that automate or support information-related activities carried out by enterprises; such activities involve the creation, collection, capture, storage and retrieval, transformation, transmission, and provision of information.
