PREPOSITIONS OF PLACE BLOCK 1: GRAMMAR PREPOSITIONS OF PLACE They are used to DESCRIBE WHERE AN OBJECT IS PLACED. There are SEVERAL PREPOSITIONS and their meaning we have to learn it by heart. Possible prepositions: Above, on, in, next to, in front of, under, behind, near, over. Example: The lamp is on the table. TRANSLATION In: a dins Behind: darrera de On: a sobre de, a Over: per damunt/sobre de Under: sota Opposite: oposat Next to: al costat de Above: a dalt In front of: davant de Near: a prop Into: cap a dins (moviment d’un punt a un altre) PREPOSITIONS OF MOVEMENT They describe MOTION in the direction of something.
