TUGGER WINCH LIFTING OPERATION - Before Use The following checks should be made before using any tugger winch1 2 There is enough wire on the drum. 3Always leave a minimum of five wraps on the winch drum.4 5 The wire is evenly and tightly spooled with no apparent defects or damage. Winch drum guards are in place. 6 Control levers are clearly marked 7Up8 and 9Down.10 Tugger brake is operational and hoist controls return to neutral when released. 11 Load weight is within the SWL of the tugger. 12 Lift plan for a simple or complex13specialized lifting operation has been performed and reviewed. 14 TUGGER WINCH LIFTING OPERATION - During Use Only trained and authorized personnel may operate tugger winches 15Refer to Section 4.116 and must ensure the following is adhered to17 18 Personnel are standing clear of all wire19 ropes and moving equipment. 20 Direct full attention to the lifting operation. 21 Maintain clear visual contact with the lifting operation. If this is not practicable22 a banksman must be deployed. 23 Stand on the correct side of the tugger when operating the controls. 24 Never leave the winch running unattended. 25 Never touch the wire by hand.
