Inclusion criteria were being diagnosed with FM between the ages of 25–55, be a volunteer participant in the research, being able to communicate comfortably, acting independently. Exclusion criteria were having had a surgical operation within the last year, having a skin disease currently, accompanied by other diseases, being addicted to drugs or alcohol, and using medicine (etc. antidepressants) and patients who did not comply with the treatment program. 2.2. Sample size calculation We calculated the sample size with the G*Power program. We chose 90% power and 0.05 significant level with effect size (dz) 0.52 (Chen 1021 G. Turksen et al. Journal of Bodywork & Movement Therapies 40 (2024) 1020–1026 et al., 2017) for VAS as the primary outcome. We found 34 for the total sample. We divided participants into two groups with 1:1 randomization using the single block method: Group 1: Connective Tissue Massage (n = 17), Group 2: Kinesiotaping (n =17). 2.3.
