Final Exam Review *Reminder: This is a study guide* Part I – Poetry 1. Concrete Poem - a poem that is shaped like the thing it describes. 2. Free Verse - Does not use consistent rhymes or rhythms. Can take any shape and address any subject. 3. Haiku - short three-line poems that describe a single image or scene from nature. 4. Lyric Poem - Expresses the emotions of the poem's speaker, or narrator. 5. Narrative Poem - Can include many of the same literary elements as fiction, such as characters and plot. 6. Poetry - Is a type of literature, or artistic writing, that attempts to stir a reader’s imagination or emotions. 7. Sonnet - a fourteen-line poem that usually explores the theme of romantic love. Part II – Identify Simile or Metaphor Part III – Drama 1. A typical play usually lasts a few hours, and all the action and plot development must take place within that time frame. 2. Comedy - The plot often involves a series of mishaps and humorous situations. 3. Drama - is a piece of literature that is written to be performed for an audience. 4.
