What is the main argument of the team against anti-drug campaigns for teenagers?
Apuntes
Good morning. We are the team against the idea that anti-drug campaigns are effective for teenagers. Even with good intentions, many of these campaigns use fear and unrealistic messages that don’t connect with teens’ real lives. That’s why they don’t create real change and can even cause stigma. For example, “Mission Education: Zero Drugs” in Ecuador hasn’t stopped drug use, especially in vulnerable areas. This shows that just giving information isn’t enough — teens need emotional, family, and social support. In conclusion, these campaigns don’t address the real causes of drug use, so they’re not truly helping teenagers. Thank you.
